Word from the road
Here's a (slightly delayed) update from Dan on the first leg of the guys current European jaunt plus some pics from Homemade Sin's warm-up show at The Mercy Lounge in Nashville on May 7. Enjoy.
“After arriving in Zurich and having a bit of "who the hell's meeting us, and when?" fun, we found our digs, then rendezvoused with the Quireboys, Mick Brown and Scooby.Fine gig at the wonderful Z-7 (every club in existence could learn something from them).
Next two shows were in Germany and were good as well, but one was in a damn old bunker (hence; Musicbunker as the club name). Well it was a fine punk rock club, but the oldsters had some tired legs standin' on the concrete floor all night. But the real treat was a couple of old industrial ovens in the "dressing room like / dining" area. Hmmmmh, what is in this stew??? (and it was stew). Now keith from the Quireboys is an easy scare and oh man were those boys from his band ruthless after the ovens and their possible earlier use point out to him. I'll sum it up in one word "brutal". Oh how they laughed at poor Keith. and I'll quote him - "I can't wait to get on stage, it's the only place I feel safe in here" with heavy irish accent. We'll run back into them next week and can't wait to see 'em.
Also did three gigs in holland that were fine. The first one was the hardest as we had a very bouncy stage, and Mauro missed a few snare beats because his drums were moving around more than just a little and he'd cracked a knuckle on the rim of his drum. Blood bath back there. Great gig at the Lantaarn and a party at the American Bar last night.
Been doing a lot of the new record, some off of the solo records, few old Sats chestnuts and "have to's" (tho we did Ship/Hands one night, I think at the punk rock club). We've had some new songs show up:- Smoke On The Water - They turned on the fog machine and Keith was covered in five seconds. Warner hit the lick and off we went, well for a verse and chorus anyway. Sufferagette City – One and a half times abandon forever. Baby What You Want Me To Do, American Girl, When Will I Be Loved, Walkin' The Dog and Dang Me.
We're off to the boat show that will no doubt be filled with drunken Swedes and Finns living out some Viking/ rock ritual. This oughtta be fun, yikes!
I'll write again if we're not sacrificed.” - db

Hey folks -
Touring time draws near again and the gang is very upbeat indeed. Mauro has finished his record (which will hopefully be out when we get there), and Warner is done with the new Jason and The Scorchers record that'll be out later in the year.
To the American fans - if you can make it to the Nashville show you will get a treat, 805 (aka Michael Webb) will be with us that night only playing keys and just being groovy throughout the night. He's the guy that played on our record so it will be a ton of fun. Now, this is nothing to take away from Keith Weir from the Quireboys who gladly lends us his talents while we're working together. Please don't abandon us Keith!!
Can't wait to see our Euro fans again, as you can see by the dates page we'll be all over the northern area this run. I hear Spain and England are up for later in the year.
Good to yap at ya.

Hey folks -
Well, long overdue, but here we are at last. Here you'll find out all the comings and goings of DB & HS. Some pix and tunes as well as live dates, gross commerce, history, links to our friends and myspace pages, and what other people think about us (a.k.a. press, though I'd take all that with a grain of salt. 'cause all we're gonna put up here is how much someone admires us, don't ya know?). Gonna try and be a good boy and keep up with an update for everyone. If y'all could do us a favor and send this link around to those you think might care, well by golly, we'll shoot up to the top of the google search and then we'll really be cool.
